The 3 Learning Styles

I often say that being a leader means being a lifelong learner. Because of that, it’s really important that you know how you learn best.

There are three main ways that people learn:

  1. Visual. If you’re a visual learner, you probably learn best by reading, writing, watching videos, or looking at charts, graphs, or maps.
  2. Auditory. If you’re an auditory learner, then that means you learn best by listening. This could be listening to podcasts, audiobooks, lectures, or even simply by discussing a topic with a group of people.
  3. Kinesthetic. If you’re this kind of learner, that means that you learn best by being hands-on. This could be by going on field trips, engaging in physical activities, practicing, or experimenting.

Those are the three ways that people learn. Personally, I’m a visual learner, so I learn best from reading and writing.
