My writing and teaching are rooted in Scripture and in the lifelong process of becoming like Jesus. Everything I create flows from a desire to help people follow Him deeply and lead others well. These beliefs outline the core convictions that shape my approach to discipleship and leadership, and the foundation behind everything I write, teach, and practice.
1. Scripture
I believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. It reveals God’s character, His redemptive story, and His purpose for humanity. Scripture is the primary way we come to know God, encounter Jesus, and are formed into His likeness. It guides our beliefs, shapes our decisions, and equips us to lead others well.
2. God
I believe in one God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is loving, holy, just, and faithful. He desires a restored relationship with all people and has been working throughout history to reconcile us to Himself.
3. Jesus Christ
I believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. He is the fulfillment of the Old Testament promises and the perfect model for life and leadership. Through His sinless life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection, He reconciles us to God and invites us to follow Him.
4. The Holy Spirit
I believe the Holy Spirit dwells in every believer, guiding, convicting, empowering, and transforming us. The Spirit cultivates spiritual fruit, shapes Christlike character, and empowers us to serve and lead others in the way of Jesus.
5. Salvation
I believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace received through faith in Jesus Christ. We are not saved by works, rituals, or moral effort, but by trusting in Christ alone.
Salvation restores our relationship with God and begins a lifelong process of becoming more like Jesus.
6. Discipleship
I believe every Christian is called to imitate Jesus. Discipleship is the daily process of being formed into His likeness. This includes our character, habits, relationships, and leadership. Following Jesus shapes who we are and equips us to influence others for Him.
I also value the rhythms of the Christian calendar as a helpful tool for discipleship and spiritual formation, walking through the life of Jesus together over time.
7. The Church
I believe the Church is the global family of believers called to worship God, grow in discipleship, serve others, and share the good news of Jesus. Every follower of Christ has influence at home, at work, and in the community and is called to lead by imitating Jesus.
8. Baptism & Communion
I believe baptism and communion are outward signs of inward grace.
- Baptism symbolizes our new life in Christ and our commitment to follow Him.
- Communion (the Lord’s Supper) remembers Jesus’ sacrifice and celebrates the salvation He provides. The elements are symbolic, and the practice is open to all followers of Jesus.
Jesus transformed the Passover meal into a new covenant celebration, reminding us that salvation is offered to all people, including both Jews and Gentiles.
9. Mission & Leadership
I believe leadership is an expression of discipleship. As we follow Jesus, we naturally influence others to do the same. Christlike leadership is rooted in humility, integrity, presence, service, and sacrificial love.
10. Hope & Eternity
I believe in the future resurrection and the hope of eternal life with God.
We live between what Jesus has already accomplished and what He will one day complete. This hope strengthens us, comforts us, and inspires us to live faithfully as His disciples and leaders.
