“Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?” – James 2:15-16 (NIV)
Leadership is more than offering inspiration and encouragement, it’s about meeting real needs. James reminds us that good intentions and kind words fall short if they aren’t paired with action. In my book A Leader Worth Imitating, I explained that Jesus modeled this when He fed the 5,000. What began as someone’s lunch, when placed in Jesus’ hands, turned into a feast that fed thousands. This shows us that even when what we have feels small, God can multiply it into more than enough. Being a Christlike leader isn’t just about providing words, it’s about providing practical care, resources, and support.
